Professor, Dr. Teimuraz Davitashvili, Chief Researcher, Head of the Laboratory - graduated from Tbilisi State University (TSU) (diploma in mathematics, specializing in Hydro-Air Mechanics). During 1994-1998 he was Assoc. Prof., and 1999-2006 Professor of TSU. From 2006 to 2011 head of department „Weather forecast, modelling of natural and technogenic catastrophic phenomena“ of the Hydrometeorological Institute of Georgia. Since 2011 head of the laboratory „Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analyses“ at the I.Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics of TSU. He has participated in numerous projects funded by: Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia – 5, European Commission Framework Programme – 4, NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme – 4, World Federation of Scientists-6, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia – 7. He is an author and co-author of 150 publications. His general research interests are: Hydroaeromechanics; Numerical analysis and computational mathematics; Geophysics; Meteorology; Hydrology; Mathematical modeling of problems of hydroaeromechanics, hydrometeorological processes and environmental pollution; Weather and climate forecasting by numerical methods.
